South Hadley's Woodbridge Street district is part of the rich historical heritage of this quaint New England village chartered in 1753. 
Mount Holyoke College opened its doors in 1837 and is one of the nation's oldest "all women's colleges" continuallly operating in the U.S. As part of the Five College Area community, enjoy the many theatre, art and educational events that are held throughout the year.The campus borders the historic town green with its charming gazebo, park benches and quaint shops.  An historic monument is erected at the far end of the town green.The town green is also the center of activity for the town, with tree lined paths and park benches dotting the landscape.The Village Commons is a unique, multi level managerie of retail shops, restaurants, and professional offices lined with brick pathways and relaxing public benches and nooks. Have coffee with a friend, take a yoga class, or just enjoy the view.The Odessy Bookstore is an independent bookstore and local landmark. Lounge with a good book, or chat with friends on the patio, or enjoy a book reading by one of the many local authors who stop by. 
Just up the street from the Village Commons is the private golf course known as The Orchards. 
The Joseph Allen Skinner Museum is located within walking distance of the town green. As part of the Mt.Holyoke College Art Museum, visitors can appreiciate the collection which is housed in an historic church.
