March 8, 2009 - "Neighbors & Friends of Jacob's Edge Open House"
Our Show Home opened its doors in early March as we invited our neighbors to join us for an "invitation only" special event. Everyone had a wonderful afternoon filled with great conversation as neighbors and friends gathered to reconnect and learn about the attractive qualities Jacob's Edge brings to the area.

May 27, 2009 - Seminar Series:  "Don't Downsize Your Life, Rightsize It"
Dr. Barbara Perman, of Moving Mentor, a Senior Move Management company based in Amherst, provided an afternoon of helpful information on how to rethink the moving process.  Her warmth and sense of humor and practical advice was engaging and we are looking forward to having her come back soon.
September 27, 2009 - "1st Annual No More Raking Leaves Party"
A little rain didn't keep our guests from getting together as we welcomed fall properly, with a little wine, local micro-brews, a cornucopia of tasty treats and lively conversation.  Raffle prizes featured local favorite destinations - Tail Gate Picnic, Brunelle's Marina and local restaurants. During the celebration we welcomed two new owners who will be joining us at Jacob's Edge.  Guests learned about our new Home To Home program and were excited to learn that three more homes will begin construction next week, including our first Isabella.

April 28, 2009 - Chamber of Commerce "Beyond Business"
We invited the local business community to join us in a grand opening party.  Although the evening was a sweltering 95 degrees outside, the fifty-plus guests inside enjoyed the air conditioned comfort of our Show Home, as well as sampled great food and beverage.
Never fear hosting a large party in your new home at Jacob's Edge! Our guests felt very comfortable and had plenty of room to walk about while sampling delicious treats. It was warm outside, but guests enjoyed central air and cool drinks. The kitchen is always the central araa of any good party -- and ours was no exception!
Jacob's Edge sponsored a trail crew to help clean up the Jacob's Brook Conservation Area that borders the community. Alan talks with crew members while passing out coffee and donuts.
April 19, 2009 - 1st Annual Earth Day Trail Clean-up
Over 28 volunteers gathered with us to do our part in cleaning the Black Stevens Trail in the conservation area which borders our community. Hopefully this will be an annual event that our residents will carry on in years to come.

Ed Cauley, developer of Jacob's Edge, has fun talking with two new homeowners as they confer over paint choices for the Great Room. What style of window treatments would be in YOUR dream home? As usual, there's a lot of action going on in the kitchen, the heart of every social gathering. And the winner is...... Patricia Luchesi, the proud recipient of a $500 gift certificate from Chap de Laine's Furniture Showcase. Jacob's Edge has changed her luck of "not ever winning anything!"
November 8, 2009 - "Design Star Challenge"
We gave our guests the job of helping us design the furrnishings for our new Show Home which will be completed in the next couple of months. The winning styles were: Great Room (American Heritage), Master Bedroom (Country Cottage/Coastal), Study (Country Cottage/Coastal) and Dining Room (Casual Contemporary/Americana).  When asked how they might want to finish the lower level, an all-purpose Family Room won over a home office or media room.  Honeycomb shades narrowly edged out Roman shades for the ultimate window treatments. Brushed chrome was the preferred finish for both kitchen and bathroom fixtures. Friendly controversy arose over the wall colors, but it looks like a tie for the Great Room, with a golden tan vs. light chocolate brown, sage green for the master and light tan for the second bedroom.
There's no better way to get to know whether Jacob's Edge is the right fit for you than to come to our many events. Meet residents  and the developers, ask questions, chat about your interests, family and even your pets.  You'll be amazed at how quickly you will feel at home.  We've even heard that a "progressive dinner" may be in the works for a future event!
